Midland, SD is quiet, small, peaceful, and comes with many different generational chains. Some very good; healing, caring, productive, and happy. Some bad; child sex trafficking, prostitution, abuse, drugs, depression, and dare I say demonic.
Stroppel Hotel and Hot Mineral Baths was a center for both sides. A family owned business in the late 30’s for healing, love, and care for all who walked through the doors. This is the true legacy left on this spot. Early 2000’s bought and ran like a whore house with other issues “underground” and looming on this very small business.
Laurie and Wallace Cox fought a courageous fight, battled the constant bucking of the last owner who didn’t want anything more than to destroy others, and Laurie and Wallace, as determined as they were, WON! She and Wallace have reclaimed this land, this building, this business back to protect the good legacy, and to stomp out the bad legacy in this community.
As for me, I was here to witness this change day by day last time I was here, during my trip to Santa Fe, NM, and then on my arrival back and learned more as to why the Holy Spirit and God keeps driving me here. I was to just “kickstart” the confirmation process with Laurie to follow God, follow the Spirit within herself and from God, and to pray for the release of the bad legacy on this land. I didn’t “save” Laurie, she didn’t need me for that, I didn’t “save” this business, I didn’t “bring God back” to Laurie; all I did was say to Laurie that she no longer had to hide the fact she believed in God. This created a flood for Laurie, prayers, good changes to the business, good things for her spirit, and the flood continues.
In the right spot at the right time. What I am most proud of is Laurie and her rediscovering her spirit, what gives her life, doing what she loves, and if that is loving God out loud at the same time; so be it! She is now a force to be reckoned with. She now has been able to keep others away that mean to perpetuate the bad legacy, and she is doing this on her own. I was a kickstart, I was a witness, I was a prayer warrior and interceder for her, with her, and through God; love, spirit, and life was given back.
I am just a vessel and a messenger. God and the Holy Spirits messenger; a warrior for others. That’s all, no ego, no pat on my back, and no “thinking I saved her”. This is freedom, this is love, this is grace and mercy from God. Amen!
Galatians 6:4-5
Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, 5 for each one should carry their own load.
