I contacted a hotel early and was able to check In early. Small town Blue Earth….get this…home of the Jolly Green Giant statue! I will post a picture tomorrow. He’s huge and I’ve been here before with my kids years ago on a trek we did this way. They’ll remember for sure. The drive here was good and pretty. Not much for hills, mostly flat, but still quiet and peaceful.
AmericInn is nice and has a pool. I was so excited to get into my room, toss on the swimsuit, and just allow my body to glide through the water of the pool. Warm, clean, and I was all by myself…yes…that’s even more fun. I had the whole pool to myself. It reminds me of Indian Acres in Champaign, IL and the summers us kids spent there. We were fish, we were always outside, and we were always tan. The two diving boards; one not too high off the deep end and the other so tall when I was little. I was always scared of the tall diving board, but it was a blast. Day-camp, where all us kids always stood around the flagpole, watched the assigned kid hoist the flag up high, and said the pledge of allegiance every morning before activities got started. Yes, we always said “One Nation, under God..”. It wasn’t altered, it was respected, and it was an honor for the kids who got to take it down and fold it up at the end of the day.
Started this trip off right. Slow, easy, swimming, and now dinner and possibly some wine! See you on the next post!
